Using the Dashboard

This dashboard is comprised of three interactive bar charts, each representing one of 911 Call Complaint, EMS Provider's Impression, and Patient's Primary Symptom. These charts are each sorted from most common to least common, with percent of total listed beside each bar.

More information on the number of responses represented by each bar can be found in the tooltip, which will appear when you move your mouse over a bar.

Clicking and Selecting

Selecting a Single Item

Most of the information in this dashboard can be found by making selections on the bar charts. When you open the dashboard for the first time, it will present you information on all records in the data set, to learn more about a specific call complaint simple click once on the name or bar representing that complaint. This will filter the impressions and symptoms charts to show impressions and symptoms only with that complaint recorded, you can tell that the filter is active when all the other bars on that chart will be grayed out.

This filtering capability applies to the symptoms and impressions charts as well, meaning that you can look at a single symptom or impression against the other metrics.

Selecting Multiple Items

This dashboard does NOT limit you to single selections. For example, if you wish to look at "Cardiac Arrest" calls AND "Cardiac Arrest" impressions, you can simply select "Cardiac Arrest" in the calls chart, and then "Cardiac Arrest" in the impressions chart. This will filter the symptoms chart to show the primary symptoms for that selection.

You can also select multiple items in a single bar chart. Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and select the names or bars of as many items as you are interested in. This will filter on those items.

Additionally if you wish to select a large number of items quickly, you can click and drag a selection box over the bars you'd like to select.

Leaving a Selection

To exit your selections, either click on the highlighted item to "unselect" it, or click on the white background of the dashboard. This will return you to the original, unfiltered view.
